Hi,
Welcome to the garden!
Fuelled by endless curiosity, I find myself embracing a variety of mediums—to express, to question, to learn, to challenge, to reflect, to explore, to discover, to give, to receive, and to be. While learning to let go of the need to achieve perfection, I’ve started to let all kinds of ideas exist like seeds — ready to take root and sprout when the time is right.
This is the virtual place where the fruits of these planted seeds co-exist.
You can use the contact form to get in touch with me or sign up for the newsletter, to be the first to know about exciting updates.
Have a look around and let’s connect!!
Thank you for being here. <3

My name is Romy Reckers. Born and raised in the Netherlands, I started dancing at a young age. From age 14, I devoted the next eight years of my life to ‘become a professional dancer’. Starting training three times a week with AfterNoon Art while finishing high school. In 2017, I moved on to full-time dance education PACT+dans in Amsterdam, graduating in 2020. At 19, jumping into the ‘professional’ dance world, auditioning for projects, training programs, and companies, while training at Henny Jurriens Studio, Amsterdam, (and my bedroom/livingroom/graden as this was in the middle of the covid pandemic). In 2021, I spent four months in Turin, Italy, studying at Nuova Officina Della Danza’s ‘International Contemporary Dance Program’. The following year, I joined the Equilibrio Dinamico Ensemble education program for three months, and participated in a ten-day residency with Equilibrio Dinamico organised by SINE METU early 2023, southern Italy.
By late 2022 and early 2023 I decided to take a step back from dancing and give myself permission to slowly broaden my horizons. Starting with studying acting at De Nederlands Acteursschool in Amsterdam, followed by a year of acting training at BIMM University in Berlin. Allowing myself to explore all realms I’ve been feeling called to but, most of all, had been ignoring.
Now, I’ve been exploring what it’s like to stop trying to choose one direction and instead embrace myself in the process of letting all curiosities exist at once—learning through trial and error. I am exploring the realms of body work/movement based massage and completed the training which allows me to call myself a Zenthai Shiatsu Level 1 Practitioner. Dance found its way back into the garden, renewed and re-informed. I am watering the seeds of all curiosities while listening to the whispers of my heart leading the way.
Carrying a deep gratitude for those who’ve paved the way before me and for the mentors, teachers, family, and friends I get to walk besides now. I’m learning to take responsibility for creating a sustainable path—not just for myself, but for those who will come after. Most of all, I’m learning to let myself be: to show up as I am each day, and, in the words of Martha Graham, to “keep the channel open.”

Acknowledging all, who’s
paths i’ve been allowed to,
invited to, welcomed to,
crossing or to walk besides,
intertwined with those who
have allowed, invited,
welcomed, others
to cross and walk beside,
where even more were
intertwined.
— in no way am I, without you,
in no way are we, without
all. Thank you.
